Wow…what an amazing week it has been!
DOAM stands for Drama, Outdoor, Art, Music. The whole school dedicated time to teach lessons based on DOAM and they have produce some amazing work! We have so many talented and creative children (and staff) at Southfields Primary! Check out just some of the amazing work produced this week below! Enjoy!
In Reception G, we have been looking at The Scarecrows’ Wedding for DOAM Week.
In Reception B, we have been looking at The Three Billy Goats Gruff for DOAM Week.
In Year 4B, We have spent time exploring outside and looking at nature and wildlife. We carefully worked on our posters outside. We also planned out the best place to grow our mushrooms and decided to find a damp, dark place round the back of the pond. There wasn’t much room but they should grow ok. We learnt that learning outside can be great fun and we want to continue to go outside for lessons whenever we can in the future.
On Monday and Tuesday Year 5 visited Ryton Pools. We orienteered our way around the nature reserve, using a map with key. There was lots of wildlife to explore in their natural habitats.
In Science we looked at parts of a flower and created accurate diagrams on the playground using chalk. This involved using our Art skills and Scientific knowledge.
We went to the Cotswold Wildlife Park to see real life African Animals in their natural habitats! It was very hot, but we had a great day and got to see some animals close up!
