Pastoral Blog October 2021

After half term we will be introducing a Pastoral Citizen of the month, this will be someone who goes above and beyond to help others. Whether that’s helping a new child to settle or assisting a supply teacher, there are so many things you can be recognised for. Staff will nominate children they feel are suitable and Sam, Debbie and Lucy will look through all the nominations and decide who they think deserves to wear the Citizen of the Month Badge around school. Remember staff will be watching all the time, so always be on your best behaviour if you want to be Southfields Citizen of the Month.

We are also looking at a Parent of the Month Award, who will be rewarded with a £5.00 voucher to thank them for supporting their children in all aspects of school life. So make sure your children are on time, in uniform and have completed any homework that has been set.

Thank you everyone who took part in Mellow Yellow for Mental Health Day, you raised over £200. Well Done

We will be doing Pink Day for Breast Cancer awareness  on Friday 22nd October. Please bring in your £1.00 and wear something pink on the day. There will be prizes for the best dressed not necessarily the one dressed in the most pink but someone who has done something a little different.

We have joined forces with Jake Bird our local PCSO who is going to be training 10 year 5 children in lots of different policing matters. There will be sessions on Speed Awareness, Road Signs, Parking Tickets, litter picks etc. This is a great opportunity for our children to learn new skills and make the surrounding streets safer for all the children. Parents please park safely and responsibly as you will be ticketed by the Southfields PCSOs, they will be watching !!

We are hoping to get the Grub Hub up and running again after half term with Caroline from The Hope Community Project, more information to follow soon.

*** IMPORTANT MESSAGE ***

Don’t forget to look in the lost property boxes situated outside the main glass doors if your child has lost anything, what isn’t claimed by a Friday is donated to our spare uniform store or sent to charity.

We break for half term at 3pm Friday 22nd October.  Have a great break, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back Monday 1st November
