Science: Visit to Schneider Engineering

Yesterday, some children from Year 1 and 4 visited Schneider Engineering to show off their vehicles that they have been engineering and prototyping in school, as part of STEM Week. Year 5: Space Trip

On Friday, Year 5 went into orbit at the National Space Centre, Leicester. We had a fantastic day learning loads of cool new facts. A top day out!

S.T.E.M Week

We have had a STEMazing week at Southfields! All week children have been learning STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and on Friday the children showcased their STEM skills to the whole school at our very own STEM Fair! Check out some of the photos from the fair below!

Year 3’s Volcanoes!

In year 3, we have been learning about the Earth’s layers, Tectonic plates, Volcanoes and Earthquakes. Our interest in volcanoes lead us to use our creative skills to make our own volcanoes! We were super geologists when observing our volcanic eruptions too!
