This visit was arranged to link in with Year 4’s Power of Reading book, which is Varjak Paw by SF Said. It tells the story of a posh pedigree cat who has to leave the safety of his home and have to survive amongst the street cats, dogs and humans. We also linked the visit to one of the main themes which we have looked at In RE and PSHE, where we have been thinking about caring for others.
The visit was a huge success thanks to the enthusiastic and passionate presentation from our local volunteers who work for Cat Protection. The children asked dozens of questions and it is no exaggeration to say we could have gone on all day!
One big request from Wendy, our Cats Protection volunteer, was to make sure you get your pet cat neutered. Visit www.cats.org.uk for more information and mention you have had a visit from Cats Protection.
